The Intestinal Ultrasound Group of the United States and Canada (iUSCAN) is excited to announce a strategic partnership with the International Bowel Ultrasound Group (IBUS) to bring comprehensive training in intestinal ultrasound (IUS) to clinicians across North America. Through this collaboration, iUSCAN will help administer the renowned IBUS curriculum, a three-module program designed to elevate the standards of care using intestinal ultrasound in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) management.
The IBUS curriculum, detailed here, is a robust training framework that includes:
- Module 1: Foundational principles of intestinal ultrasound.
- Module 2: Advanced techniques and clinical applications.
- Module 3: Independent assessment and certification.
As part of this collaboration, iUSCAN will be responsible for organizing and directing Module 1 training sessions in the United States and Canada. This will be done through an iUSCAN/IBUS steering committee to ensure alignment with international standards. These sessions are the essential first step for North American healthcare professionals seeking IBUS certification in IUS.
If you are interested in beginning your training to perform intestinal ultrasound in North America, review our upcoming trainings here.
If individuals or organizations wish to host a Module 1 training , please inquire with iUSCAN here. This ensures alignment with IBUS standards, the highest quality of education, and consistency across all training programs.
Stay tuned for updates on upcoming training opportunities through iUSCAN and IBUS.
